The Lovers sacrificed: a trailer for the new film by Kiyoshi Kurosawa

The feature film won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.

With his new film The sacrificed lovers, Kiyoshi Kurosawa returns to his native land, leaping back in time. Originally from Kobe, this is where the Japanese filmmaker places the plot of his new feature film, carried by Yû Aoi, Issei Takahashi, Ryota Bando and winner of Silver lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.

It begins in the year 1941, in Kobe. Yusaku and his wife Satoko live as a modern and fulfilled couple, far from the growing tension between Japan and the West. But after a trip to Manchuria, Yusaku begins to act strangely… to the point of attracting suspicion from his wife and the authorities. What is he hiding from them? And how far is Satoko willing to go to find out?
