The Medium: Thai horror movie trailer in the vein of Na Hong-jin’s The Strangers

Logical, since the South Korean filmmaker produces this realization of Banjong Pisanthanakun (Shutter).

Nothing to do with the X-Box video game: The Medium is the next film by Banjong Pisanthanakun, who co-directed Shutter with Parkpoom Wongpoom. When it was released in 2004, this horror film was acclaimed by fans of the genre, beforebe remake in American-Japanese co-production with Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor under the title Spirits (2008). For this solo film, the director continues in horror, telling in The Medium the descent into hell of a descendant of Shaman in the heart of the Thai countryside, who must face an evil spirit taking possession of one of his family members. His trailer just dropped:

The Strangers, a spectacular biblical thriller

With its intimate dramas and spiritualism / exorcism sessions, the atmosphere of this video is strongly reminiscent of that of The Strangers, of Na Hong-Jin, and this is not by chance: the South Korean director, acclaimed for this terrifying demonic story, in 2019, is the producer of The Medium. Scheduled for July in the United States, this project will be distributed by The Jokers in France. It is not yet known whether it will be released in theaters or directly on DVD.
