The trailer for the new Resident Evil finally promises a movie faithful to the game

Chris Redfield and his sister Claire will be at the center of this zombie adventure, between Raccoon City and a certain Spencer Manor …

Five years after the end of the not always very happy franchise worn by Milla Jovovich, here it is again resident Evil in a brand new movie: Welcome to Racoon City. Forgotten Alice and the crappy intrigues added at the time. This time, we promise, we’ll stick to Capcom’s video games. We want to believe it and the official trailer tends to confirm these good intentions.

We can already see that the whole story will be centered on Claire Redfield, determined to bring down Umbrella Corporation, with the help of her brother Chris. Especially since their small town of Raccoon City will be completely ravaged by the zombie virus …. We also discover that, if the film will start like Resident Evil 2, it will then branch off towards the first video game opus, since the story will then take us to the iconic deserted Manor Spencer, beautifully recreated in real for the occasion.

The official pitch goes in this direction: “Located in 1998, resident Evil finally unveils the secrets of the Spencer mansion and the city that was once the thriving headquarters of the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation. Since the departure of the all-powerful company, Raccoon City has sunk to ruin, and a terrible threat lurks deep within its bowels. When evil awakens to spread horror, a small group of survivors will join forces to try to uncover the truth about Umbrella, hoping to see the end of the night … “

Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, directed by Johannes Roberts, will be released in cinemas on November 24. In the casting, we will find Kaya Scodelario (The labyrinth) will play Claire Redfield; Avan Jogia (Zombieland 2) will be Leon S. Kennedy.
