Spike Lee and his jury have just unveiled their favorites … with a lot of boondoggles!
The closing ceremony of the 74th Cannes film festival has just ended, animated as planned by Doria Tillier. If the opening had taken place partly without a mask, which caused a lot of ink to flow, reminder of the measures by Pierre Lescure and Thierry Frémaux paid off, and this time the public respected the sanitary rules.
At the heart of the ceremony, the Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio received an honorary Palme d’Or, presented by Paolo Sorrentino.

Then Spike lee and his jury (Song kang-ho, Mati Diop, Mylène Farmer, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jessica hausner, Melanie Laurent, Kleber Mendonca Filho and Tahar Rahim) delivered their verdict … with a lot of boondoggles: the president of the 2021 edition started to announce the Palme d’Or as soon as the host gives him the floor, then the winners of the jury prize, tied, had to pose with their prize “to share”, the time that a second trophy is made … Spike then apologized (“sorry for messing up”), before announcing the victory of Titanium with Sharon Stone.
