Tom Hanks to star in Yellowstone-derived western series 1883

It will be the most luxurious guest star on American TV.

A few months after playing the trigger on Netflix in the movie News of the World, Tom hanks will return to the western, on a streaming platform. This time it will be for 1883, the series derived from Yellowstone, and not in the shoes of a main character.

Oscar-winning actor has agreed to play a luxury guest star for Taylor Sheridan, reveals director in Deadline. It should appear (at least) in the second episode, which will be uploaded on December 19 on the Paramount Plus network.

Tom hanks should fit in the role of a three-star general in a flashback streak, according to Sheridan, who promises more surprises and more prestigious guest stars throughout this first season …

let’s remember that 1883 will take us to pioneer America at the end of the 19th century. We will discover the origins of the Dutton family as they set out on a journey west through the Great Plains, to the last stronghold of wild America. Described as a brutal western about the conquest of the west, 1883 will also be an intense study of a family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land: Montana.
