Uncharted: movie plane scene compared to video game scene

Ruben Fleischer’s film, starring Tom Holland, will visibly be very faithful to the original video game.

In the official trailer for the new adaptation of the famous video game Uncharted signed Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom), we can see the character of Nathan Drake, hero of the film played by Tom Holland, trying at all costs to board a plane while it is in flight by hanging on to crates. A thrilling scene, which brings back memories to purists of the eponymous game of 2007 to such an extent that it seems modeled on Uncharted 3 :

We find in fact the sequence where Nathan Drake has to climb on crates and try to reach the plane, the moment one of his attackers is carried away with one of the crates that he narrowly avoids, the jump in the empty to reach the plane … So many similarities that prove the fidelity of this adaptation to the original video game. A fidelity that we find throughout the trailer, with sequences and sets directly inspired by the games of Naughty Dog.

Uncharted, directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Art Marcum, Matthew Hollaway and Rafe Judkins, is portrayed by Tom Holland (Nathan Drake) and Mark Wahlberg (Victor Sullivan) in the lead roles. Antonio Banderas is also in the cast of this adaptation, in theaters on February 16, 2022.
