The creator of The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor is currently working on his upcoming Netflix series.
While the production of The Midnight Club is already launched and continues under the leadership of the creator Mike Flanagan, the director behind the anthology The Haunting revealed on Twitter the names of the filmmakers who collaborate with him on The Midnight Club, his next adaptation of a horror novel for Netflix.
Flanagan, who recently signed Doctor Sleep in the cinema, will not direct the whole series alone and will be surrounded by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour (Black box), Axelle Carolyn (Tales of Halloween), Viet Nguyen (Lucifer), Morgan Beggs (Smallville) and Michael Fimognari (To All the Boys: Always and Forever). Note that Carolyn and Beggs have already worked together on The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel, The Midnight Club takes place at Rotterdam Home, a hospice for terminally ill adolescents where a group of patients start to meet at midnight to share spooky stories. The group makes a pact whereby whoever dies first will contact the others from beyond the grave.
note that Mike Flanagan Another project for Netflix will be released this year, which will be called The Midnight Mass, another of its kind in 7 episodes, which will follow an isolated island community experiencing miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic and mysterious young priest.
Honored to announce the other filmmakers helming eps of THE MIDNIGHT CLUB. Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, Axelle Carolyn, Viet Nguyen, Morgan Beggs, and my dear friend Michael Fimognari will all direct episodes. I’m grateful and lucky to collaborate with such terrific artists.
