This character refers to animated series, and in particular to Clone Wars, where a member of his clan, Pre Vizsla, plays a major role.
Huge surprise for episode 5 of the The Boba Fett Book : there was no Boba Fett! In a bit of a weird way, Disney+ unveiled an interim episode between Season 2 and Season 3 of The Mandalorian, all about Din Djarin, on the heels of his win over Moff Gideon. Here he is back among his own, his congeners of Mandalore, or at least the two that remain.
The opportunity for the series Star Wars to introduce as it should a certain Paz Vizsla, a new character from Star Wars, directly linked to Clone Wars and Rebels. Certainly, we had it briefly in episode 3 of The Mandalorian. But back in Season 1, he wasn’t even credited as such (he is today) and was quickly dubbed by producer Jon Favreau. This time, Paz Vizsla is well and truly embodied. It’s Tait Fletcher hiding under the armor.
The Danny Trejo surprise in The Book of Boba Fett explained
This episode 5 of Boba Fett book confirms that this Paz belongs to House Vizsla, which was once one of the largest political factions in Mandalore. Notable members of the Vizsla clan, who ruled the house, were featured in the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars and star wars rebels. Especially in Clone Wars, Pre Vizsla infamously led the Death Watch, on a mission to restore Mandalore’s warrior legacy by ending their peaceful era, using any means necessary, even if it meant allying with the Sith Lord, Darth Maul. Another historical member, Tarre Vizsla, was the first Mandalorian Jedi and was responsible for creating the legendary Darksaber… which Paz Vizsla claims in The Boba Fett Book !
The dark history of his house makes his hatred of the Empire more personal and explains this attraction for this Dark Saber. We bet that we will see Paz Vizsla again in season 3 of The Mandalorian !
