Yann Moix prepares Podium 2 but without Benoît Poelvoorde and Jean-Paul Rouve

“If so, I am unable to do anything other than Podium”

We had to wait seventeen years but Yann Moix is working on the sequel to Podium, his film which told the story of Bernard Frédéric, double of Claude François. On the antenna ofEurope 1, the director and writer claims to have finished ” a film with Gérard Depardieu in North Korea which will be released soon, and I am in preparation for Podium 2. “Twist:” I change all the actors », He explains, which means that Benoît Poelvoorde and Jean-Paul Rouve (who played a double of Michel Polnareff) will not be back. And yet Moix affirms that we will find the same characters as in the first part. The casting was not discussed during the interview.

I like these characters. I believe that, if it is found, I am unable to do anything other than Podium (…) I like to make documentaries too. But I am more a writer than a director. You can’t do everything in life, and I found my place. I was lucky enough to be able to do a bit of cinema, which is nice, but I think if I had to choose just one art, it would obviously be literature. », Promises Yann Moix.

For the time being, Podium 2 has no shooting date let alone a release date. In 2015, the idea of a sequel had already been discussed, and Michel Polnareff himself was to star in the film. Will he be present this time?
